Weekly photo challenge: lunchtime – for Pippa

I gave her ten resolutions for new year. How many has she kept up to?

Two. I ask you. Just two out of ten.

She curls up in a tiny ball on the sofa sometimes, NOTE only sometimes (resolution number five), and she has fed me tasty tablets and toast (resolution number nine). But no more than usual. Maybe that’s only half a resolution?

That’s pretty pathetic isn’t it? 20% is not a pass rate Misery. Go the the bottom of the class.

Oh, you can’t, you’re already there. Well, move down a class then. Bah.

What is this photo challenge thing? I am not photochallenged. I am extremely photogenic.

Some rubbish about if I don’t let her write this it will be another three months before a post appears.

OK. Lunchtime.

Well that’s easy.

Here is their lunch. It should be mine.

Shall I flip the plate or just jump up and grab the sandwich?

Shall I flip the plate or just jump up and grab the sandwich?

More patient waiting. How patient can a dog get?

Here we are. My favourite service station. (They are all my favourites). Soon there will be crisps or chips. Yum.

Here are our crisps and bottle of water. They should all be mine. Well the crisps should, although I don’t mind sharing the water.

What did I tell you? Crisps. Pippadog LOVES crisps. Only the healthiest made with virgin olive oil of course

Here is a fine lunch. Harvey in Gib, except I’ve not managed to catch him yet and now he has moved away. It must be because he knew I was just on the point of catching him for lunch. Or breakfast, tea or supper. Who cares?

Cat sandwiches for lunch?

Cat sandwiches for lunch?

Here is what happens after lunchtime.

Let sleeping dogs lie

Or this. A dog needs a choice of where to nap.

Let sleeping dogs lie. Take two.

Let sleeping dogs lie. Take two.

Silly photo challenge. Write me a proper blog post next time Misery and DON’T FORGET to visit my friends. Do I have any left after this extremely lengthy absence where you have been boring everyone on your own blogs?

See you all again in June. If I’m lucky.

Photos taken with iPhone 3G. No fiddling taken place as I am handsome enough not to need my photos to be tampered with. Even the cat didn’t get tampered with, although he would if I had got my paws on him.

Ola! Pippadog, you are lucky. I don’t think my two made any resolutions. They have willpower with the breaking strain of a KitKat. You are lucky by the way, getting to chase cats. I’m not allowed. I chase biscuits. Your sofa looks very comfy. Why do you let misery share it? Far too good for her. Nice Landy too. I get to go in the Audi occasionally but NEVER get crisps. Pippadog, you have a good life! Lulu xx

    • pippadogblog says:

Hola Lulu. Here I am. Finally reappeared. Now waiting patiently for a post. As ever.

Biscuits arrive, I have no need to chase them. They don’t run away. Cats on the other hand … mmmm.

I don’t let Misery share it. She annexes it. Like Poland. My best friend Prince had an Audi too back in the UK. He liked it. There were lots of windows so he could see to bark at people, cars, bikes, anything really. He liked his Landy too.

Crisps are good for dogs. It saves the people getting fat. You need to tell yours that. Although once a quarter won’t make anyone fat.

      Pippa xx

PS would you like to be added to my list of beautiful girlfriends? I don’t have any in HK so you would be a first.

      • Andrew says:

Ah Pippadog, my two don’t eat crisps so I can’t try that argument. I would love to be added to your beautiful girlfriend list but be careful, that old flirt Murphy is also laying claim to my affections. He is apparently off his food. Can you believe that? A dog not eating??? Is it nice in Gibraltar? Do you have lots of skyscrapers like Hong Kong? Do you know Rafael Nadal? Mrs. Ha likes him. Please post again soon. We need more dog-blogs.

        • pippadogblog says:

I’m not a jealous type. I can hardly say that when at one point I had more than 20 girlfriends. Feel free to be friendly with Murphy (who? is he stout?) and me. No I can’t believe it, well unless he is poorly 😦 Yes, it is, although at Spain I have a gate which I highly recommend for lying out at all day to watch nothing in particular.

We have some obnoxious new buildings but nothing like HK. I have not been there. Misery has. She was surprised how Chinese it was. She thought it would be British. (It was at the time). But British come to Gibraltar and expect everyone to be English and they are Gibraltarian. And speak Spanish, and English too of course, because we are still a BOT.

I don’t know Nadal. Or Alonso. Or anyone remotely famous from Spain. I am sorry about that. Does that diminish my chances in the girlfriend stakes? (no steaks here).

I was hoping Misery would put up my post over the weekend but it seemed she had some paperwork to sort and Other Things To Do. Which she also seems to have to do today. I live in hopes.

          Un besito x

  2. Vicky says:

I shouldn’t give the game away Pippa, but flipping the plate would make a lot more noise and you may be caught in the act. Slowly, stealthily and a long tongue is the way, while keeping one eye on master and mistress 😉
Crisps and chips? Don’t let LS&J hear those mentioned.
Your sofa looks extremely comfortable, ideal to sleep off your lunch.

    • pippadogblog says:

Thank you Vicky, that is sound advice. I have also thought about flipping my breakfast tin but I suspect I would end up showered in Waggs.

Sofas are for dogs. Chairs are for dogs. Floors are for dogs. Others can fit in around us.

  3. bluonthemove says:

Hello Pippa, glad you’ve finally got up off your bottom and written a post. If I was Misery I wouldn’t give you any toast until you’d written your daily blog post, there again me being Misery would probably not please any of us very much!!

Harvey looks a very nice cat, instead of chasing you would have been better to make friends with him.

    • pippadogblog says:

I’ve even managed to answer a few comments now. A mere three and six months late. There is hope yet.

If I was Misery I wouldn’t give her any toast until she’d written my blog post. Er daily, no though. She would get fat on so much toast.

I can’t work out if Harvey is stalking me or if he wants to be pals. So much easier just to chase him.

  4. pix & kardz says:

well Pippa, so lovely to hear from you again. you certainly are not photo challenged in the least bit, and it is very kind of you to share your sandwich and your chips and/or crisps. but that poor Harvey. i agree with blueonthemove. he is probably a very nice, friendly cat. you might be surprised!

anyhow, you are looking as handsome as always. nice that you shared a post! Timmy sends his very, very long-distance regards. Lunch and naps are two of his favourite things to do as well 🙂

    • pippadogblog says:

Hmm, I’m thinking quarterly posts are not good enough. At all. Harvey may well be friendly, but he is still A Cat. Regards to Timmy, and if he wants to play chase he can always travel over.

  5. My darling Pippa,
You are certainly not photographically challenged….you are the most handsome dog in the world! My suggestion on the sandwich is to become Silent Invisible Dog…that way you can steal the sandwich and finish it before anyone realizes it is gone! (works for me all the time) Those crisps you spoke of sound delish! Harvey looks like Riley–the neurologically challenged cat that lives next door but hangs out in our yard or garage all the time.
Pippa…your sofa—oh my goodness! I SO want to curl up on it with you!
I love the picture of you by your truck. I got to spend the day with mom in MY truck…but she didn’t take any pictures! I will have to speak to her about that. We have a school demo on Thursday, so I am hoping to have a post up shortly.
We have had a very strange winter here. I will have to tell you more about it.

Love you with my heart, my dear Pippa!
    your Skye

    • pippadogblog says:

      Dearest sweetheart Skye

I don’t know how you put up with my occasional appearances, I am the worse fiancé in the world.

My sofas are all yours. In fact you can even have them all to yourself, and I will be happy to lie at your feet. Sometimes the tiled floors are cooler anyway.

I will ORDER Misery that we must visit your blog.

      You have my heart.

      Pippa xx

      • Y says:

        My darling Pippa,
My goodness, sweetheart! Please do not put yourself down! You are the best and ONLY fiance I want!
Thank you for saying I can have your sofa. I would very much like it if you would snuggle up next to me. I know tiled floors can be nice and cool, I enjoy those myself too. I have not put up a post in a long time…my mom has been almost as bad as your Misery! We MUST get them back on track. I will let you know as soon as I can get a new post up so you can see it.
I spoke to Blue in chat this morning and will be having supper at her house. I think I may just side trip to visit you on my way back home!
Know that I love you with all my heart, my dear Pippa! There is no one for me but YOU!

        All my love,
        your Skye ♥♥♥♥

  6. Bassa's Blog says:

You are so cute Pippa! I love the pictures – especially the one of you waiting patiently for crisps! 🙂

    • Pippa, we were growing rather concerned, and so it was a huge relief to see this post. However, I have to say that the Gang here really does not approve of your attitude to cats. Sorry, mate, but that’s just the way it is.

We are counting on you to bully the staff into more regular posts.

      Woofs,
      Tommy

      • pippadogblog says:

        Thanks Tommy.

I am not sure where my cattidude came from, I suspect it was from living on the streets when I was a hungry perro and people left food out for poor starving dogs and yet those pesky cats would steal off with it. Who knows? Not me.

The staff is useless. There may be a post this weekend. There may not be. At least the staff has managed replies. After months.

        Embarrassed Pippa

    • pippadogblog says:

Thank you Bassa. It is a deceptively patient look. Really I wanted to steal them right out of Master’s hands.

  7. EllaDee says:

Pippa, are you saying this post is rather than a dog’s lunch, Misery has made a dog’s breakfast of her resolutions and keeping up with your blog? mmm, I thought so. Misery though has put up some very nice photos of you, via which you’ve obtained good advice re sandwich filching methodology, which I’m guessing means next time, there’ll be no sandwich on the plate 🙂 Harry looks like a nice kitty, somewhat like my buddy Ginger Boy. I’m sorry he’s moved. He may have shared his cat biccies with you had you become friends.

    • pippadogblog says:

Haha Ms ED. Most witty and extremely accurate.

She is only posting photos of me on her blogs to assuage her guilty conscience, which must be in overload right now.

I did get some cat food from our neighbours. Except i wasn’t cat food it was dog food. They had bought dog food by mistake and the cats didn’t like it. Me, I’ll take anything. Live on the streets, take what there is. Preferably tasty edible cats.

Now, I’ve been looking at my on-line booking for that afternoon cat walk with you …..

      • EllaDee says:

Fine by me, we have a lovely big couch for you to sleep on 🙂

        • pippadogblog says:

Thank you. I’m not sure when it will be as I’m currently negotiating a rather lucrative offer from texas to chase deer (I do hope they will be small as that is much easier, I quite like big animals) so I will be in touch as and when. Your generosity is most appreciated.

  8. Looks like a perfect day. Fun and beautiful images.

  9. Pippa you are the handsome devil. Guess that’s why there are all these Molly nose prints all over the screen. Molly requests I mention she is fond of yogurt, but staff is reluctant to give her most treats as her delicate tummy tends to produce a little bit of gas…no it has nothing to do with the palm tree trunk that she is shredding or the date like things she can jump up and pull off and gobble before anyone can pry them out of her mouth. Obviously staff needs exercise and must be encouraged to run about. Paws up for fun, Pippa!

    • pippadogblog says:

Ahh, the lovely Molly, I can smell those nose prints from here. Even 3 or 4 months later. OK I lie, but still the idea is nice.

But yoghurt is good for poorly tummies. Bifidus is excellent. In fact yoghurt is good for any tummies.

My staff don’t run. The one is incapable of it in her dotage. Which is why she falls over on cat chases.

A furry paw extended to Molly.

  10. Chancy and Mumsy says:

We didn’t make any resolutions this year. Either way would have worked for getting that sandwich we think sweet Pippa, did you get it? We are glad you didn’t have cat sandwiches for lunch. Hugs and nose kisses

  11. Pippa!! You’re still very lucky doggie. Our mom and dad didn’t make any resolutions. Bad humans!
    Your friends,
    Momo & Pinot

    • pippadogblog says:

Hello you two. Well Misery didn’t make any either, and she didn’t keep to the ones I kindly provided for her, so that was a wasted exercise. Hope all is well at your place.

  12. I’m afraid that WordPress will not let me post my comment with Blogger. Or Blogger won’t let me post on WordPress. Whichever. So I must put my Secretary to work. It’s good to hear from you. I was afraid that something dire had happened, you’ve been away so long. The Secretary says that she gets tantalizing glimpses of you on Misery’s blogs, but not enough. I’m glad to see you are doing well. I hope that you are getting all the crisps you want.

    Big Dog Ralph

    • pippadogblog says:

And I’m afraid that Misery won’t let me post either! I am pleased your Secretary works. More than Misery does.

Misery seems quite entranced with your Sec’s boring history blog whereas myself I find dogblogs far more interesting. When I am allowed near the keyboard to supervise which is increasingly rare.

  13. Hi Pippa
Just running by and decided to bark. Molly says she heard you had staff so well trained you were taking in an apprentice for entertainment. It’s a tiny bit cooler here so I’m dragging staff along even faster on walks – and the squirrels are showing up again – some of them aren’t too smart. Might be able to get a squirrel tail ear muff yet. Paws up!

    • pippadogblog says:

Oops. missed this due to exile in Spain. Indeed, but now you know all about the new recruit. I think I would like squirrels. Assuming they run away of course. I only like things that run away. Sigh catz ……
